Due to the complexity of most e-commerce websites, users find it difficult to shop online. They often get lost while navigating around the website and also get overwhelmed immediately when they visit the website due to the large and complex information on the UI of the website.Also users that aren’t very used to shopping online can get confused on where to find a particular item and this is due to the poor visual hierarchy and typography.Customers need a platform where they can get affordable gadgets without having to go to the market place e.g computer village, alaba etc. This exposes the customers to fake products and they end up getting scammed.
In order to understand a product’s user, it is to go and meet them, talk them through the goals they want to achieve with the product and to empathise with them with regards to the pain points they share.The purpose of the usability study was to identify bottlenecks in the existing website and funnels where the user is most likely to drop out of the website. In order to understand more about the design of Laptop city, we did a short research on the company’s competitors. We carried out SWOT analysis.
We are creating wireframes to flesh out the decisions made within the sketches. During this stage, we are also developing layout rules and visual hierarchy. We are creating this for two screen sizes. This is particularly helpful when the experience changes between desktop and mobile.
Once the wireframes are completed, we will be creating high fidelity visual design mockups
In collaborating with the front-end developer and the back-end developer, a UX audit was carried out mid production in other to align the websites production with the figma designs. The purpose of the UX Audit was to point out areas where the developers have to align their designs to figma designs including interactions.
